Dr Khawaja Shahid Baig was born in the picturesque hill town of Muzaffarabad in Pakistan.

He received his medical degree from King Edward Medical College now a University in Lahore, Pakistan. After a brief stint in Government hospitals, he left for United Kingdom and served in the National Health Service for four years. Then he left for the new world.

In United States, Dr Baig completed his cardiology and Cardiac electrophysiology fellowships under Dr Masood Akhtar in Milwaukee,Wisconsin. This was at Sinai Samaritan/St Lukes Hospitals through University of Wisconsin,Milwaukee Campus. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, Dr Baig has been in clinical practice for over 2 decades in Dayton ,Ohio and Virginia Beach.

Dr Baig has extensive experience in treating heart rhythm disorders. This includes electrical studies of the heart and performing complex ablations for atrial fibrillation and both supra ventricular and ventricular tachycardia. He is also experienced in Pacemaker and Defbrillator implants and their management in the office.

In advancing care for patients, Dr Baig started and expanded AFIB ablation programs in Dayton, Ohio, and Chesapeake Hospital in Virginia. This effort was recognized by health news report on Dayton TV. He also introduced Leadless Pacemakers, subcutaneous ICD and Cryo balloon ablation to hospitals in Dayton, Ohio.

Dr Baig was the teaching faculty in Electrophysiology for the Wright State University Cardiovascular Fellowship program in Dayton Ohio for 10 years. He has participated as co-investigator in many pacemaker and defibrillator trials.

He is board certified in Cardiovascular diseases and Cardiac electrophysiology. He is aFellow of American College of Cardiology , member of Heart rhythm society and American Heart Association. He is fluent in English,Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.

Dr Baig is married with three children. He finds time to immerse in Star Trek, Marvel and other Sci Fi Universes. He is a longtime fan and part owner of NFL’s Green Bay Packers and enjoys games from the 50 yard line .
