Keith Cornel, DO
Dr. Keith Cornel is a board-certified general cardiologist who has an interest in preventive cardiology, heart failure, amyloidosis, and valvular heart disease.
He takes pride in providing compassionate and comprehensive cardiovascular care tailored to each individual patient. He takes time to listen to his patients and perform thorough cardiovascular examinations. He is a firm believer in the power of diet and exercise in overall health and always integrates this in addition to medications and procedures into his treatment plans.
For procedures, he is skilled in performing transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and cardioversions. He is proficient in interpreting diagnostic tests such as stress tests, nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging, and echocardiography.
Regarding his personal and professional background, Dr. Keith Cornel is a first-generation Filipino-American immigrant who moved to Chicago with his parents at the age of twelve. He completed his undergraduate education at Loyola University Chicago before moving to southern Nevada where he graduated medical school from Touro University Nevada. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Franciscan Health – Olympia Fields and finished his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Naples Heart Institute. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He can speak Tagalog and Bisaya.
Although his rigorous training has led him to all parts of the country, he is grateful and eager to return to Nevada and give back to the community that first allowed him to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor.
Outside of work, he enjoys working out, basketball, and spending time with his wife and dog.
